10 House Warming Gifts Under $30 People Will Actually Love

Moving into a new place is a huge stepping stone in life, especially when it's your own place. There's so much to learn and experience on this journey. It can be a mixture of joy, excitement, exhaustion and stress all wrapped up in one.

For most people it usually starts off with a budget friendly apartment that you can almost guarantee is way too small and was last renovated sometime before the new tenant was even born.
After some time if you put in the work chances are you get to upgrade to a nicer apartment building. This one has new(ish) floors, a lot more cupboard and closet space, and much better lighting. The entrance area of the building is clean and inviting. You feel better about inviting people over to this place.

If you keep up that hard work, put in time and effort, chances are your next step will be looking into getting a house of your own.

Whatever stage you're at in your life taking the next step to upgrading your living environment is a big deal. It always calls for a celebration.

Now when your family and friends are making these changes in their lives you might be wondering "What house-warming gift would they actually use that fits my budget?".

This is such an exciting time in their life so it's only natural to want to treat them to something useful for thier new place that they probably won't already have.

Today I'm going to share with you guys 10 house-warming gifts under $30 that people will actually like and use.

1: Seasoning Mixes:
This past year for Christmas one of the gifts my mom got for me was a collection of bottled seasoning mixes.
Aren't those adorable? They're actually really good too and inspired an idea for a diy gift.
If you want to make this gift start off by taking a trip to your local grocery store and grab a variety of seasonings. I would recommend buying bags of seasoning instead of the shakers. You will save quite a bit of money.

Take a look at your nearest craft supply or dollar store for some small glass bottles or jars similar to the picture above. Also pick up some gift tags and ribbon so you can label your seasoning mixes.
This gift is great for that friend who is just a little bit clueless in the kitchen. Help them step away from those frozen dinners and make real food taste good with ready made seasoning blends.
All you need to do is combine the seasoning mixtures, fill up the jars, fill out the label and tie it to the jar with the ribbon.
You could do something like mixing garlic salt, sage, rosemary, parsley and basil together and label it as "Herb & Garlic Chicken blend" for example.
With this gift idea you can do as little or as much as you'd like to fit your budget.

2. Indoor Herb Plant:
House plants are probably the most commonly thought of house-warming gift. Every room looks better with flowers or a plant in it. Since I'm mentioning it, chances are someone else has already gotten this person your shopping for a house plant so step it up a notch and get them an indoor herb plant.
Most grocery stores sell pre-potted herb plants in the produce section. You can pick these up for a very reasonable price too! If you dont find any pre-potted all you need to do is buy a ceramic pot, some soil, and seeds for the herb of choice and start the plant for them. It's easy and budget friendly.
This is also a lot more thoughtful than a houseplant in my opinion. Not only do you give them a gift that is going to make their place look better, but with care it will also provide something tasty to add to their meals. Bonus points for a gift under $15! (That's half the price of this article's budget so you can also treat yourself!)

3. Decorative Fruit Bowl:
Take a look around different shops and online stores and try to find a larger bowl that's unique, beautiful and suits your friend's taste
Once you've found the bowl that screams your friend's name and make your purchase fill it up with some fruit. If you want to get extra fancy about it stick a gift bow on the side to show you care.
This is one of those gifts that sounds simple, but will get so much usage. You will probably still see the bowl on their counter 10 years from now.

4: Paint A Picture:
If you have any creative bones in your body, and enjoy painting this is the route to go. It's a personal gift that comes straight from the heart. The receiver will be touched to have a one of a kind piece made by someone they love. On top of it being unique and personal it is also the most budget friendly gift option.

5. Flutes and Bubbley:
What better way to celebrate than a bottle of bubbley! Champagne flutes are a great idea because wine glasses are so common you can pretty much guarantee someone else already gifted them some. Flutes on the other hand will give them something to pull out on special occasions.
If your budget is tight you can find flutes at Wal Mart for only a couple dollars a piece. Just because it's budget friendly doesnt mean it can't be fancy!

6. Placemats:
This is a simple gift that sounds boring but in all honesty will probably be appreciated more than you would imagine.
Placemats come in so many different colours and patterns so it shouldn't be too hard to find something your friend likes. They will help make the table look put together when company comes for dinner. They also create an adorable backdrop for any food pics your friend will want to put on Instagram.
If you're lucky they will invite you over for dinner more often to show off how cute the gift looks!

7: Notepad and Pen:
Fifteen years ago every house had at least a dozen pens and notepads scattered all over the place. These days people don't have as much use for them since most notes we take can now be done on a mobile phone. Yet every now and then I find myself in a situation where I need to jot something down quickly and having to search for a pen and then paper can be such a pain.
Take a look around stationary sections of your favourite stores and try to find a notepad or notebook that's decorated in a theme your friend would enjoy and find good quality pens to go with it. Pick something they wouldn't mind leaving out on display so it won't be such a hassle for them next time they have to jot something down.

8: Serving Tray:
Cute, practical, and fits the budget. I love the idea and convenience of these things.
This gift will make your loved ones happy in their new home because now they can easily transport their drinks and snacks to any room they please.
They can now have their morning coffee and toast in bed without worrying about spills. During the warmer seasons they can easily take their drinks outside and enjoy the fresh air.

9: Muffin Tins:
Every home needs muffin tins, which makes this gift a great choice for people moving into thier first apartment. The smell of freshly baked muffins makes any living space feel warm and cozy.
If you feel like just the tin alone would be too dull of a gift take it up a notch. Find a recipe for your favourite muffins. Mix all the dry ingredients together and put them in a Mason jar. Write down some baking instructions and remember to list what other ingredients they will need. Add a decorative ribbon and you are all set!

10: Wax Warmer:
There are two different types of wax warmers to choose from. One warms the wax by inserting a tea light candle in the opening, which is the one to choose for people who like being around candle light. The other type plugs in so you don't have to worry about burning a candle.
Wax warmers are safer and less messy than regular candles. Pair this gift up with a few different scents of wax cubes and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Having to stick to a budget doesn't mean you can't find amazing gift ideas in your price range that people will love. What was the most thoughtful house-warming gift that you have ever recieved? Let me know in the comments below!
